The Zambezi Cycle Challenge’s primary objective is to raise funds to preserve the environment surrounding this natural wonder.
These funds will be raised by providing a top class, uniquely challenging and adventure filled experience through beautifully scenic, natural reserves; for participants that are conservationists as well as adventure enthusiasts!

This event is a mixture of tough trails, rolling Jeep tracks and majestic scenery all taking place in the Zambezi National Park amidst herds of elephant and buffalo and near encounters with lion. Safety is well covered by professional personnel and the overall organisation is first class making this THE “must do bucket list” MTB event of central Africa.

There are no stage races in Africa that can tick as many boxes as the Zambezi Cycle Challenge does. Set in a unique location which allows you to enjoy incredible natural trail riding, in a wildlife area, looking over one of the 7 wonders of the world (Victoria Falls) , this event will certainly become a must do for any MTB rider looking for adventure.

Being able to bring the family with me for a long weekend in the Falls , ride my bike in the mornings while the wife and kids do an Elephant back safari and then do a sunset cruise with the family in the afternoon, makes this event a no-brainer. Doing this stage race was an easy sell to the wife!

3 infamous days on (and off) a mountain bike in July 2015 Victoria Falls will now remain firmly in the psyche of a 58 year old. From the comfort of Elephant Hills Hotel at night to the varied off road gruelling routes to the small group of fellow competitors now friends, to the amazing sunset personal boat cruise, fine wine, cold beer and feast on the banks of Africa’s most iconic river. From a tour operator, adventurer, mountain biker and a frequent visitor to Victoria Falls my earnest hope through sporting activities such as the Zambezi Cycle Challenge and working with the council and wildlife authorities will help ensure that Victoria Falls and surrounds remains pristine and conserved forever for all.
